stabilizing whipping cream

Hi, I am making a Black Forest gateau and have been told to use whipping cream. I have read somewhere that you can stabilize cream but wasn't sure about the best way to do this? any help you can give me would be great (easiest possible/foolproof way). Thank you!

Hello Quattro,

I prefer to use double cream as it will hold but you can add a couple of teaspoons of icing sugar or a big dollop of mascarpone to whipping cream if you prefer.
