Christmas cheese biscuits

Last year or the year before... Delia had receipe for 2 types of biscuits involving pistachio nuts, ground almond, cheese. Roll up the dough into sausage, cling film, fridge slice and bake.
Can you help?

By the way what is the notification thing below?

They're Sables!!! not biscuits no wonder I could'nt find the receipe. Thank you.

It is possible to freeze the mixture in the sausage shape? Without loss of fabness.

Many thanks

Sables

It is. Make sure the mixture is defrosted and not too hard when you slice it or it will crack as you slice.

Thank you for that. Also I am thinking of getting another shelf for the oven so can cook more biscuits and sausage rolls at a time. I have seen extendable shelves on Ebay, is this OK?
I can't buy an extra shelf for the model of oven as its deleted, I bought that on ebay to. It seems to run a bit hot and over does things a bit. Could I put a meat thermometer in the oven without the meat to test the actual temperature? I did try with my jam thermometer, but it exploded.

many thank maggie

Sables

Lindsey, many thanks for providing the recipe for these. Instead of the freshly grated Parmesan can I substitute with Parmesan that I have in a drum and use sprinkled over Spag. Bol. I doubt it but thought I would just check.

For Maggie and Dottie

Hi Maggie,

I think and oven thermometer would be better. I’m not sure if the meat thermometer would work or not.
I then to bake biscuits or sausage rolls one tray at a time rather that have to swap them about. I wouldn’t recommend baking anything in the oven with sausage rolls as they are bakes at a very high temperature, release a lot of fat and the oven can get quite smoky if your baking a lot of them.

Hi Dottie,

We love the freshly grated Parmesan but can make the sables with the drum Parmesan if it’s more convenient for you.

Best wishes to both of you,

Lindsey
