substitute for shredded suet

Hi! here in the USA shredded suet like ATORA is impossible to find. Can I use Crisco instead? Or what else would be a good substitute?
Thanks

Suet in the USA

Hello margz.

I have head of some using gated frozen butter and others using beef fat from the butcher which they freeze and grate themselves. I guess grated frozen Crisco would be similar to butter.

There are a couple of on-line suppliers of suet in the USA which may be worth taking a look at.
