Green Tomato Chutney

While the storm clouds were gathering I decided to make Delia's green tomato chutney. Having simmered gently for five and a half hours (recipe says about three and a half) but it still hadn't thickened I decided to up the heat and stir fairly frequently. After about half an hour it seemed nearly there - the recipe also says it will thicken as it cools. So decided to bottle it and go and watch The Paradise.

This morning it is still looking a little on the runny side. Should I put it all back in the pan and boil it some more?

Thanks,

Anna

Green Tomato Chutney

Hello Anna,

What a shame.

I would put it back in a pan and simmer it until you can make a channel across the top that doesn’t fill with liquid.

Good luck

Lindsey
