strawberries and cream gateau

i have had great success making delia's black forest gateau from one of her very old recipe books (similar recipe to return to the black forest). i was wondering what the cocoa could be substituded for to make the sponge plain for a strawberry gateau? perhaps plain/self raising flour? i am unsure of what quantities to use, or indeed if this would work at all. any help would be appreciated!

Hello blackforest,

I guess you could have a go with white chocolate powder but I haven’t tried it myself.

However this recipe has been tested and was very much enjoyed by all of our tasters.
