Crumbling fruit cake

Any suggestions why my cake crumbles when I cut it. It is a boiled type fruit cake.

Hello Ann,

Yes I agree it is likely to be overcooked. Perhaps your oven is running a little high. You could try an oven thermometer to check it.

We have made this boiled cake recipe many times and it is always lovely and moist so you might like to try it.
