Gluten Free Pizza Dough recipe

Do you have a Gluten Free/Vegan pizza Dough recipe please? The one I use is okay but we can never get the dough to be crispy no matter how thin we roll the dough out. We use Dove Farm plain flour, we add Xanthum gum to replace the gluten and use the normal other staples when making pizza dough, olive oil, yeast etc.

We were advised recently to add potato flour to the mix, but we weren't told how much?

I would be grateful for a recipe so I could make a thin and crispy based pizza rather than something that is quite heavy.

Many Thanks xx

Gluten Free Pizza Dough recipe

Hello AnnieAmeila,

Sorry this is another question that we do not have a tested recipe for. Again I would suggest that you post your question on the ‘Can anyone help’ forum if you haven’t already as there are lots of members who cook gluten free recipes.

Best wishes

Gluten free pizza dough

I would definitely post on Can Anyone Help. Gravy Queen, one of our members, cooks gluten free food and has loads of great advice to share. I am sure she will see your question there and reply.

Gluten free pizza dough

Although I haven't made my own gf pizza dough all I would say is that it's trial and error so don't give up just experiment . Try just replacing part of the Doves Farm flour with the potato flour maybe , half and half ?

Same things I don't make when I can buy a good quality ready made product, pizza bases being one of these things . I make my own pizza sauce and use a Tesco free from base .

Would be interested to hear how you get on , might prompt me to try !! :-)

pizza recipe

Hi, I've only tried a few, this is the best one so far

3 oz rice flour
3 oz gram flour
1 1/4 oz maize flour
1/2 tsp xanthan gum
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp easy-blend dried yeast
2 tbsp olive oil
dairy-free margarine for greaasing

Sift flours, xanthan gum, salt in large bowl, add yeast and mix well. make well in middle, pour in oil. Work the flour into the oil with wooden spoon or fingertips until well blended, pour in cup warm water 3 1/2 fluid oz, a little at time, mix till forms soft dough, turn out onto surface dusted with rice flour, and knead thoroughly for 10 mins, place in clean bowl, cover damp cloth, leave in room for 1 hr until doubled in size. the rest is up to you, good luck x
