GLUTEN FREE

Hello Delia and Lindsey and everyone on line!
My friend is gluten intolerant, even using the same utensil on gluten products makes him really ill! I have managed to produce most things gluten free, and I have to say much nicer and far less sweet than anything shop bought. However the one thing he really misses is BREAD. Try as I might, I can't get a really good bread. Shop bought versions are mostly crumbly and fall apart if you try to butter them. Can you come up with something? Thank you so much for this site. Really great! Regards, Joan

Gluten Free

Hello Joan,

I do not have a recipe for this but there are lots of Deliaonline members that follow Gluten Free diets. May I suggest you post your question on the Can anyone help forum.

Sorry I couldn’t be any more help this time.

Best wishes

Lindsey

Gluten free bread

You can get decent gluten free bread in most supermarkets now, the ones I use are Genius and Warburtons. Both excellent. I went through many breads first and have settled on these now.

I dont bother making bread at home it just doesnt keep very well and turns quite heavy unless you use it straight away. I just buy the breads I have mentioned.

Absolutely no reason to miss out!

Gluten free

You always need to be careful regarding cross contamination in the kitchen so separate utensils are a must.

Gluten free bread

Just wanted to add though that if you do really want to make gluten free bread then Phil Vickery does have some good recipes and a couple of GF baking books out. Also Hannah Miles.

You could cheat a little and buy ready made gluten free bread mixes, Lakeland sell them.
