cream cheese frosting

When I make this cream cheese frosting for carrot cake I find that it goes runny. I have tried adding more icing sugar but then it is too sweet.
I have tried different types of cream cheese but it makes no difference.

Frosting

Hi Minky
I had the same problem and I think it was because I was using margarine rather than proper real butter because now I use proper real butter it does not do this. Also where the recipe says add orange juice don't because this makes the frosting runny.

Thanks for that.
My friend was having the same problem and spent some time investigation the issue. Eventually found an American site that recommended putting dried egg white in the mix. She then tried using fondant icing sugar (which has egg white in) instead of ordinary sugar and since then prob solved.
I get very frustrated when things go wrong and I waste ingredients!
