Spreadable Butter

When you refer to spreadable butter is that the Butter that includes Vegetable Oil to make it spreadable.

Hello Endastory,

Yes that is exactly right. Lurpak is 69% butter and 25% vegetable oil. There has been a lot of discussion about it on the forums. Wherever we use spreadable butter you can use very soft butter instead if you prefer but we like the spreadable butter because it can be used straight from the fridge and it gives consistently good results. The oil not only means you are ready to bake at any time but our tests have produced lovely moist cakes which still have the flavour of butter. Soft Stork works very well too if you prefer a non-animal fat.
