Hi, I'd like to ask what could I use instead of apricot jam when glazing, would any other jam work? I've heard of sthg called piping gel but it's not easy to find and not very cheap.
Thanks a lot for ur help

Substitute fo apricot jam

Hello Zoe,

I think that if you want to substitute apricot jam for brushing over a cake before decorating you could use redcurrant jelly, If it is for glazing over fruit or nuts you will need something that doesn’t spoil the colour of what you are glazing. Perhaps ginger preserve or sieved lemon or lime marmalade might work depending on the recipe.

I hope that helps,
Lindsey

My apologies for calling you Zoe by mistake. I was reading Zoe’s question about Swiss roll and then answered your question first.
