McCain Potato Rosti

I am trying to find McCain Potato Rosti in the supermarkets but they all seem to have stopped stocking it. Delia uses this in some of her bread baking and it is a great product. any ideas for substitutes?

I'm not familiar with this product, but I do make rosti - would grated potato work?

rosti

Waitrose do a plain one - the type that comes in a foil pouch (I think - have just bought one but not tried it yet)
What are the McCain ones like?

Potato rosti

i would suggest maybe using potato hash browns - sainsbugs (own brand)sell some tasty ones, just sort of scrap off the outer coating. and sainsbug sell aunt bessie rosti's just looked on the website. tesco sell the same brand (currently a £1 cheaper than sainsburys).

McCain Potatoes

I don't like McCain potato products, much prefer Cavendish Farms but I suppose they are not available in the UK

McCain.

Im not sure about this John, but I'm told McCain UK products are rather different to those available in the US / Canada.

I don't buy oven chips or wedges though, so most of their products do not appeal to me.

If you don't want to make your own I find M & S ones (sold in packs of 4) are better than McCains or Aunt. Bessies
