Sorry if someone has asked this before in the classic christmas cake could I just replace the nuts with more dried fruit?
I make around 7 Christmas cakes each year, & I tweak every one I make.Two have no nuts , 1 has no peel, 2 have no icing, so in answer to your question , yes you can always tweak the recipe.My Sister loves cherries in hers so she has the nuts replaced with cherries
