Haven't a clue what galangal is, or need to know what to use if you can't buy creme fraiche locally? We're sure our knowledgeable members will be able to point you in the right direction...
You're are all probably going to think I'm being very juvenile and silly here but for the first time in 8 years of living here I've been able to buy some unsalted, untoasted pistachio nuts! You have no idea what a joy this is to me as in the past I've had to buy the salted ones and wash the salt off then dry them but there has always been a bit of a taste. They still come with the shells though and now I've no thumb nails left but I've got raw pistachios! Tra-la-laWendy
Hurray! I know what you mean. It is so frustrating when you can't get something you really like.
