Grapes

Haven't a clue what galangal is, or need to know what to use if you can't buy creme fraiche locally? We're sure our knowledgeable members will be able to point you in the right direction...

Grapes

I have a friend with an enormous and prolific grapevine. I know it's too late for this year, but I'd love to have any suggestions for the vast numbers of grapes it produces.

Thanks

Grapes

We used to put them through a juicer (centrifugal type) and drink lots of fresh grape juice - yummy!!

more grapes

As well as SonyaK's juice, pickled grapes (I used an old Waitrose recipe), grape preserve, included as a component of mincemeat (as in an Eliza Acton recipe, before I lost the book), as fruit in a flan, + of course home-made wine.

Grapes

Sole (or chicken) veronique. If you can be bothered peeling the grapes. A 50s and 60s retro dish. I think there is a Delia recipe in one of her books.

Homemade wine?

Thanks for all your suggestions - I shall save them up for next year.
