Booze free Christmas cake

I'm trying to think of a substitute for the alcohol in the Christmas cake recipe, would it work if I steeped the fruit in apple juice? I was planning on making it this week but am afraid that it might go off by Christmas?

Booze Free.

Apple juice or cold tea work well.

As for it going off, with the sugar level, you will be fine now, Im sure other members will agree.

You cannot make it booze free as early as you can booze included, but a matter of weeks is just fine.

i made mine about 3 weeks ago, by soaking the fruit in brewed tea.

checked it this morning and its smells and looks and tastes (took a nibble from the middle bottom) divine.

Fab!

I hadn't even thought to use tea - brilliant idea, will crack on with it tomorrow. It's so difficult to find a alcohol free recipe.

Thanks very much!
