Jus-rol puff pastry rounds

In Delia's CHEAT! recipes one ingredient I loved was Jus-rol individual puff pastry rounds. I can-not find these anywhere now. Even the company (jus-rol) does not reply to my email. I know they make sheets of rolled-up pastry but they are just not the same. The rounds were thinner and just the right size with no waste. Any-one know if they are still available in any shop in the UK? In France a similar product is available

Well thanks for the quick reply. But where do you get the rounds from then? I'll happily travel the country for some. (most supermarkets sell the rolled sheets)

I live in West Yorkshire. (yummy says she lives in France). And yes I can buy these rounds in France, but can't get them home because they will thaw before I can get them into the freezer. Just a thought! I am going to France next week. Anyone got a portable freezer that I can plug into the car electrics?

Thanks for the news re Jus-rol discontinuing this line. Why don't manufacturers wise up to what we want? I find it happens all the time with lots of other things too. It appears they only want to sell millions of a line or they drop it.

Puff Pastry Rounds.

I suppose they will say it was not selling enough to make it worth while.

Quorn do the same, launch countless new products all the time, I try, I like, never to see them again!!!!

It is annoying.

Puff Rounds in France

Cherrypicker, These are sold in the chiller cabinets so if you buy them on the way home you should be able to freeze them when you get home.....

Find a Lidl when you come over as you can buy them for 52cents !! all butter feuillette (puff pastry)I used one just on Sunday to make a Tarte Tatin, so easy not worth making your own.

Alternatively look in any of the big supermarkets, they all do there own make which are generally a good deal cheaper than the Heta ones.

Bon Chance

"I suppose they will say it was not selling enough to make it worth while."

I think the fat is that it is easier, and more cost effective to cut pastry into oblongs and let us waste the trimmings, there must be quite a lot of wastage when they are producing the rounds for sale.

I'd have thought it just went back into the machine to be rolled out again.

Anyway, I usually buy a sheet, and cut it myself, but yes, into rectangles....

Thanks for the Lidl tip. I'll be shopping at Auchan in Dunkerque for the most part but I know they have these as you say in the chiller so I guess I will risk the overnight return ferry from Zeebrugge to Hull. I wonder when Auchan will open a hypermarket in the UK? and if ever it did would it sell all the wonderfull French products/lines that you are so lucky to get.

Cherrypicker, if you click the News & Features tab at the top, and then the Cheat stockists on the left of the next screen you will see the state of play, but not sure when the list was last updated.
