Tofu Basilico

Haven't a clue what galangal is, or need to know what to use if you can't buy creme fraiche locally? We're sure our knowledgeable members will be able to point you in the right direction...

Tofu Basilico

I've bought a 200gm packet of Tofu Basilico which was reduced in price (too expensive otherwise!). Has anybody any recipes in which I could use it, other than a stir fry? Needs to be vegetarian and gluten-free, sorry.

tofu

cube it, roast it then toss it with roasted med. vegetables. Spoon over a sauce of your liking.

Or roast it and then stir it into a thick Italian-style stew (cavolo nero, white beans, etc).

Or .... send it to me! ;)

Tofu in a tagine

Thanks for your reply, I did respond but have only just noticed that my message didn't appear. I used the tofu basilico in a tagine with peppers, chick peas, apricots, mushrooms etc, and very tasty it was too. When I get some more I shall try it, as you suggested, with roast vegetables, which is a particular favourite of ours.

Tofu Basilico

It's one of my favourites. I use it in stir fry's, as it is in a salad in the summer, steamed with rice, or griddled with roast vegetables, rice or quinoa. It's very versatile. The same make sausages are lovely too.
