Chocolate truffle torte

Haven't a clue what galangal is, or need to know what to use if you can't buy creme fraiche locally? We're sure our knowledgeable members will be able to point you in the right direction...

Chocolate truffle torte

My guest isn't keen on the flavour of almonds. What would be a good substitute for the amaretti biscuits?
Thank you

Crushed Ginger Nuts perhaps, toasted chopped hazlenuts or toasted coconut.
I make this onto a chocolate biscuit base,(as in a cheesecake) then put nibbed almonds (not toooo almondy) and chopped dried cranberries before putting on the chocolate layer, then just dust with a sprinkling of 1 tsp cocoa powder 1 tsp caster sugar mixed together.
It's very nice, and goes even further !!!
ps you don't need a big piece, very moorish !

Those options sound very appetising. I'm serving it with fresh raspberries and rasberry sauce so I think i will try the ginger nuts.

Thank you so much

don't bother

Anna , I make this every Christmas. One year I didn't have ameretti biscuits and didn't bother using a substitute. It was fine without it.
