Mincemeat

What can I use instead of suet and Bramley apples - both of which I cannot buy here - to make mincemeat ?

Suet.

If you have a butcher (even in the supermarket) then you can get suet.

You will be able to get suet in the butchers then. Its only the fat around the kidneys. Butchers do not even usually charge for it.

Mincemeat, apples

Hi, I used the French Granny Smith last year and will have to do similar this year. I use Delia's recipe with the cranberries and also use dried cranberries (successfully) which means I use less apple. Fingers crossed next year I will be picking a couple of my own Bramleys.....
