well i just baked the iced lemon curd layer cake...my cakes did not rise though i am suppose to cut the cakes in half so i have four layers...:( i followed the recipe exactly...was looking forward to it to...will have to be a two layered cake...it is not like my cooking to fail...
That is a delicious cake and the lemon curd is wonderful. Well done, even if the cakes are a bit short...
It's a shame that it didn't work out as it should have but never mind, I bet it tasted good! I must say that I often use smaller size tins than recipes suggest in order to achieve the depth.... The same goes for pastry - I always have to make a bit more than the recipe says, otherwise I would struggle to roll it out to the right size. Also, I never expect to eek out scone dough for the same number given in a recipe!
