Feuilles De Brick - PERFECT!!!

I bought a pack of this in Waitrose today, and its ten sheets, ready rolled, in a circle shape, but the date is end of Jan next year.

The new book has a wonderful recipe for parma ham, pecorino and rosemary crips that is so quick and easy to do.

Im quite excited by it, so will try it out during the week. Obviously packs of parna ham have a long date too, so this is a good fridge standy if people pop in unexpected. A couple of mins to assemble and 12-15 mins in the oven whilst you chat, then you can offer some little nibbles!

Brill!

Feuilles De Brick - PERFECT!!!

Hi James

I bought this fillo type pastry in Waitrose when in London at the begining of the year, I think I read about it on DOL. I put it in the freezer when I got home and forgot about it, now I can't remember what I intended doing with it. Your recipe sounds great, but no good for us, being veggie and all. Does Delia suggest it for anything else James?

My budget does not allow for books at the moment, so will to try and get it from the library.

Yes Sue.

Get the book from the library babe!

I think Delia uses it for something else in this book too, but Im guess there a lots of other uses for the stuff.

Im sure, with the recipe Im looking at, you could come up with a veggie alternative.

I'm thrilled that you found it James! It does look rather wonderful but unfortunately as I'm a celeriac I can't have it. You enjoy it for me!! We love our nibbles!

Feuilles De Brick

Oooh, I just read the article. Im just not sure though, why would they put not suitable for freezing if it is?
I think they may have changed the supplier from the one Delia has used.

Mine says NOT suitable for freezing.

Mine was £1.89 not £1.69 as the article says.

Who knows, as I said though, I really cannot see a reason why it could not be frozen!

Feuilles De Brick - PERFECT!!!

Hi James

Your Feuilles De Brick was more expensive than the the price quoted in the article because it was from 2008.

Welsh Lamb, I will use my Feuille De Brick soon and report back regarding quality from freezing, bearing in mind that it has been frozen for quite sometime now.

Thank you Sue

as James says no reason why pastry type things should not be frozen!!

freezing

I wonder if an ingredient was frozen during the manufacture - like the fat so it could be grated - so it is not suitable to refreeze before cooking?
