A Thank you to Delia for my lovely Delia Buddies

Although no longer a regular to the Forum pages, I used to be here on a daily basis. Through these pages I have forged friendships with some lovely people. On Monday and Tuesday this week ten of us had a fantastic meet up at the lovely Honey's. Two days of non stop chatter, wonderful food and reminiscing, so a big "Thank You" to Delia and her team for giving us the opportunity to become friends through this wesbite.

Looking forward to the end of July now when hubby and I are off to spend a couple of days with another previous regular, the lovely James.

Thank you...

Well we do miss you all, to be ten men down is a big chunk, but we are very happy that through Delia Online friendships have been made.

Food and friends - there's nothing better!

Thanks for stopping by Saffy

From everyone at DOL.

The boards certainly seemed to move a lot faster back then, but we were also aware that some people found our banter a bit much. Being in a smaller group we have become very close, can chat online freely and don't have to worry about boring people to death with our silliness!

I do pop by occaisonally to join in, but more often to print off a recipe - dinner tonight planned from the recipe pages here. x

Thank you...

Also, when our forums first started there was no Facebook plus we were the ONLY cookery website with message boards so there was a certain amount of novelty value. Peoples lives just move on don't they?

Thank you Delia

I do still drop into Coffee Break and Can Anyone Help from time to time if I see something I can help someone with.

Delia may be pleased to know, as a result of watching her Cookery School videos, I decided to make a couple of her quiches... the traditional Quiche Lorraine and my daughter, Angel, made her Thick Onion Tart too. The onion tart was a winner in my book... very tasty. Oh and many years ago, she taught me to make meringues and I made them for the Eton Mess. So I'd like the thank her... she still influences us (she was the topic of conversation more than once) even though we're not regular visitors we are still her fans.

How wonderful to see you again Saffy xxx.

Its wonderful the friendships you build from this site, can almost make you cry sometimes.

Promise me one thing though, when you see OUR James, give him a great big extra cuddle from me xxx, and i hope to hear all about your meeting up x

I made your greek roast tatties the other week - always a hit.

Plus, i have news too, my Hubby is one of the members of your Hubby's club - well sort of...Not London obviously. But he is one of the club xxx I wish i could have shared that with you, but we lost touch :(

I certainly will pass on your hug for Jimbob. It's a shame he no longer uses the forums but I understand his reasons why.

I've just sent you a friend request on FB. I'll take some piccies when we see James and post them there.

I take it that the building trade is still suffering if Roger has started cabbying? Steve hates it, but it's a job.

I'm cooking beef stifado today and was going to have rice with it, but following your prompt I'm going to do the roasties - haven't done them for a couple of years. Greek salad with it, halloumi on the BBQ for starter. Think a bottle of retsina had better go on my shopping list too!

I've met a Greek lady recently (she is going to update our bedroom furniture - cream chalk, waxed paint), and ever since I met her I've been craving Greek food. Haven't been to Greece for a couple of years and I'm getting serious withdrawal symptons.

Hi.

I still dip in and out of the site but haven't posted for ages. Great to see some familiar names still appearing and nice to know that the lovely James is around and well.

Nipped back here to tell Yummy, if she's still on here that her magic mayo recipe never fails to impress. Even OH can make it to perfection.

Hope anyone who remembers me is fit and healthy. I'm still enjoying spending many months of the year in France, which is where I am now enjoying the sunshine.

Delias books and especially CCC is still my bible. Other cook books have come and gone!
Take care everyone. Xx

Lovely to see some familiar names back on here. For various reasons I haven't been posting so much these days but hope to be back again soon. I do look in to see what is happening etc. Saffy, when you meet up with James give him my sincere regards. I believe he moved and no longer have an address for him. Take care everyone.
