Favourite Ice Cream Flavours

After reading about turron I've been inspired to make ice cream with it. Does anyone else have any other flavour combinations they recommend? Two of my favourites to make at home are honeycomb chopped finely and added to vanilla ice cream and also plain vanilla made from custard that has been flavoured with cardamom which is particularly yummy. When I'm out I usually buy chocolate, caramel or coffee flavours.

My absolute favourite is mango.

We stayed at a posh inn a few years ago and for the first time enjoyed the chef's licorice icecream. A recipe he wouldn't part with, grrrr. It's delightful and tried to make my own. Ordered licorice buttons on line and melted them down, although that wasn't easy. It was very nice but not as nice as the hotel's.

ice cream

I don't have a favourite ice cream because I like them all, especially if they are homemade.
I have made a couple of Delia's, cinnamon and the coconut with lime syrup they were both very nice. I've always wanted to try her Lemon meringue and the rhubarb crumble ice cream. One day I will get round to doing it. I've made many more but not Delia's recipes.
You can't beat homemade unless you are in Italy.

I'm not a big ice cream fan but cannot say no to Rocky Road - could easily eat an entire carton if I allowed! My husband's favourite is one called Butter Brickle and for this I add chopped up butterscotch to my homemade vanilla ice cream and it comes close to store-bought. Homemade peach is divine.

Fave ice cream flavours

Salted caramel - so yummy! And then honeycomb. Delia's recipe for Rhubarb Crumble ice cream is amazing!

I love homemade ice-cream... particularly coffee. If you can make something that resembles Carte D'Or Lavazza ice-cream, I'll be wanting your recipe. Have you tried it? It's so scrumptious.

Today's Ice Cream

That looks good, Noreen. I haven't tried that one and really like the idea of the balsamic vinegar with the strawberries - sounds a very interesting flavour combination.

I once had the chef's special of truffle + vanilla ice cream, at the Georges V in Paris. It was one of his signature desserts. Very nice, too!

Commercial ice cream - cherry garcia, but can't find it now anywhere in Europe :(

Aromatic Irish Coffee Recipe

I actually found this aromatic Irish coffee recipe on Daily Cuppa Coffee that I'm dying to try: http://www.dailycuppacoffee.com/coffee-recipes-ice-cream-cakes/cold-beverages-and-ice-cream/aromatic-irish-coffee-recipe. Not really an ice cream flavor, I know, but it does use 2 of my favorite things in the world- vanilla ice-cream and coffee! :)

I'm not a big ice cream fan but when I do choose one in our local restaurants its always one called Welsh Gold. I believe it is made locally.

Last week I had a ginger ice cream in a small village theater. Really delicious. I think they used crystallised ginger finely diced. I'm going to make some at home in the Cuisinart.

Welsh Gold Ice Cream

What flavour is it Dottie? Sounds rather sumptuous.
