Longest Day

In three weeks time it will be the 21st June, Longest Day and the middle of "alledgedly" the Summer.....Did anyone else miss it ?

We REALLY need some warmth and sun now, will you be holidaying here, or escaping to find some sun in foreign parts ??

~Am desperate for some sunshine. Not helped by spending much time in cold air conditioned office so I tend to miss any fleeting mid week sunshine. No hols for us this year apart from last week in August in Devon (not much chance of blazing sun there!) as we are spending every penny on the house -new kitchen extension due to start at beginning of July and I did spend a satisfying 2 hours in Magnet yesterday redesigning the new kitchen we are going to put in. x

21st June is the day I got married in 1952 - at the time I didn't check that it was the shortest night!! We've had glorious weather here for the past couple of days and promise for a few more next week. Perhaps this is going to be our Summer for 2013..

We cannot wait for sunshine - it is dreadful here in France as well. Monsoon rains, wind and low, low temperatures - at this rate the "Summer" is going to be very short. The River Lot has burst its banks, and the local cafe/restaurant owners have had no trade - should be really busy by now - "flaming" June? I don't think so!

Pan, The weather has been glorious here in Devon for last few days. Which part of Devon are you holidaying in? I'll request the warmest and sunniest of weeks for you for the end of August!

summer??

I have my big 50 on Father's Day, so am hoping for some dry, if not sunny weather for Sunday morning. Just so that any family & friends who haven't quite set off home after the party on Saturday night can at least spill out on to the lawn with their coffee & bacon butties ....

Summer cannot be uploaded

It always amuses me how optomistic fashion magazines and stores are, with their ranges of flimsy, brief little numbers for us to wear, plus advice on sun proection. OK for the tropics, but surely they should provide more practical British summer wear for most of us. Still, we live in hope...

Summer clothes

Please not the sea of grey, navy, and black M&S surrounded the rails near the tills with in our local store in February/March. Too depressing; we're not all going to funerals!

Pan... we were in Devon all last week and Sue organised some wonderful weather for us. The sun shone every day, all day, and we didn't have a drop of rain. So you never know... could be good for you.
