BBQ Season is HERE !!!!!

Now that the weather has warmed up, we have already had our first BBQ, simple though it was, it was rather nice, just marinated Chicken with Sweetcorn cobs, and with new potatoes.
We are planning one for tomorrow night, Spatch-cocked Chicken, Oven Roasted Ratatouille, New Pots, and Meringue nests with fresh berries and low fat creme fraiche for desserts.

I Love boned and butterflied Leg of Lamb, marinated with spices and tomato, little expensive but it goes a long way, especially when boned out, really easy to serve. I think I have the recipe on my profile, but if not I will put it on.

What's your favourite BBQ dish ???

BBQ

Cannot see the attraction of barbecues - although we have a built in one here in France it only gets used when we have friends or family to stay. We let them get on with it!!! It never gets used the rest of the time. Food is either charred or cold - the odd occasion I have tried to barbecue anything it has been a total disaster!

BBQ Season is HERE !!!!!

Our BBq'd food is neither charred or cold, beautifully cooked through, and delicious, and succulent so not dried out either....There is a knack to it and patience is the key, perhaps you don't have that knack, but with practice you could achieve it....perhaps you just don't want to ??
That's no problem, some people just don't like BBQ'ing

BBQ season

We're going to fire ours up today or tomorrow (watching the weather closely)... first this year. I don't know what kind of barbie you have Yummy, ours is a hassle-free gas one. We never have any problem with charred or dried food either as gas is very controllable. As you say, you do need a bit of experience with a barbie and then your food is scrumptious and succulent. I'm sure it's no surprise to hear there will be a few sausages on there in addition to some lamb steaks (marinating as we speak).

Oooo!! Honey, I LOVE Lamb on the BBQ and yours sounds delish. Hope the weather stays fine for you. We recently bought a Blooma Kinley BBQ which is like a large round Weber but set into a trolley with a granite work top for slicing, serving etc. We have had gas before but with a Lava rock bed, and the new ones don't seem to have these. Ultimately Keith will build one in the garden/patio area, but that may be a little while yet ;)

BBQ Season is HERE !!!!

I enjoy a BBQ but my OH doesn't so the BBQ stays mainly in the Garage. Didn't use it all last year but when the weather warms up I will definitely bring it out into the open. The wind is still a bit too keen in this neck of the woods to sit out for any length of time. While in Waitrose last week I noticed they had quite a few BBQ items on their shelves which looked very tempting so will probably buy a few next week and see if I can persuade OH to venture outside!
