Petrol

Needed petrol yesterday. Waitrose, which is 5 miles one way from where I live was charging 1.37.9 a litre and another garage 5 miles the other way was charging 1.30.9 a litre. Guess where I filled up?

DM -- These days I use the bus for 90% of my travel. I am not eligible for a bus pass but I pay just £3 per day (and only on the days I use it) for unlimited local travel. No car park fees, no petrol bills.... But then I am lucky, I have a bus stop outside my house and the service is excellent.

The price is horrendous - we filled up the car today, plus the can for the tractor and the bill came to 98 euros!!! No local buses here so rely on the car. Someone must be ripping off someone somewhere down the line??!!

TCM -- Yes, we are all being ripped-off but the motor fuel price rises are an own-goal for the state. People stay at home, don't shop or spend, so no VAT, shopworkers laid off = on benefits and not paying income tax or NI...

But when you're in a barrel a metre from the edge of the horseshoe falls you have few options.
