Delia's Cakes

I gave in and bought it in Tesco on Wednesday as it was cheaper than online and looking through I quite fancied it. Oh dear, I also went to Colanders in Hitchin and got the swiss roll, brownie and baking tray plus the liners!!...they were all needed though, it wasnt through the power of Delia ad. as such :-)). I genuinely needed a new baking sheet and the other 2 tins i dont have in that size....

Have you?

Excuses , Excuses !!!!

Since when have you needed an excuse to buy new tins Mrs.
I like the look of Colanders , have seen it online .
I could spend a fortune in there .
Waiting for Lakeland at Milton Keynes end of the month , no more travelling long distance to shop there .

Delia's Cakes

Yes Gravy, I shall now quote a piece from the book 'We have tested all the recipes with gluten free ingredients. And even happier to tell all gluten-free cake makers that we have been most impressed with the results. A small number of our recipes were not really suitable but they have been marked with an asterisk.

Couldnt type everything out

oh this is sounding more and more like the book i need to have.

i have a very sweet toothed OH. I bake a cake or cakes once a week.

i did err and ahhh about getting the original book - but i am afraid i am a picture kinda gal, and i like to see what the finished product is supposed to look like.

so this too has gone on my wish list lol.

I do however, have a little gripe with all recipe books.....where do they all have different sized tins for essentially the same recipe.???

for example i made a lemon meringue pie the other week - followed recipee to the letter, but my tin was 2 cm bigger than suggested - but the filling given could actually have filled THREE tins.

it would be so much easier to have 1 or 2 sized tin recipes as a standard.

for baking a vic sponge to making a fruit cake to make a meat pie.

I haven`t seen the original one and bought the new one today. its a nice crisp sleek book - like the "How to Cook" books. Looks good on first reading.

Please don't tell Thomasina -- her b'day tomorrow -- I have bought her Delia's Cakes. I've had a good thumb through. Really nice - a pleasure to own - and so straightforward even I will be able to use it (baking is not my strong point)

Sam, your gripe about tin sizes is the whole point of Delia creating her own range of tins. Have a look at what she has to say here...
