Unofficial meet ups

It'll be 2 years in July since I first met up with other 'Deliarites' - and since then I've met a few of you again, which has been lovely, and I've made new friends. I was wondering if we could sort out another meet up (or a few around the country) for this coming summer?

I'm asking this so early 'cos I need to arrange to be in the UK at the appropriate time - so who fancies it? Ideally one meet-up would be in Brighton, towards the end of July (want to be here for my Dad's birthday on July 26th) - but could also do London if it means there'd be more of us.

People in other parts of the country - why not do the same? I'm not trying to exclude anyone, but can't see me travelling to Birmingham or beyond, so hopefully someone else will pipe up with a more Midlands/Northern venue for another meet-up.

Anyway - am throwing the thought out there, to see if anyone else is interested - so post if you are!

Having now looked at the calendar, what about Sat Jul 27th or Sun Jul 28th for either a Brighton or London meet? If London, the Sat would be better, because engineering works tend to happen on Sundays on the railways.

Brighton

Could be fun and I am not a million miles away. Brighton does have a certain panache; what did you have in mind? Maybe someone could organise some B&Bs? Put me down as a very probable, with Thomasina. Maybe a show as well? Would have to be on a fairly keen budget for me, I'm afraid.

I think I was the last to arrive at the meet up we had in Brighton - it was easy to find the Delia people, 'cos they were sitting outside surrounded by wine bottles :P I just raised an eyebrow at them and mouthed 'Delia?', and they all nodded!

I think there's quite a bit of reasonably priced accommodation in Brighton, if anyone needs it, plus there's always something good on at the Theatre Royal or the Dome, or even one of the comedy clubs. Once we get a date agreed (and I'm slightly flexible on that, could make a week earlier or later than the 27/28th - just so long as I'm here on the 26th) I'll investigate further and let you know the options :)

Met Essex Girl and her lovely friend Vivian today for lunch - had a great time, and would definitely enjoy meeting more of you (and some of the ones I've met before, too!), so if you've never been to one of these get togethers, please don't hesitate to join in, people are so welcoming and friendly, and there's always something to talk about!

Brighton Meet

It was great meeting you again DG and I do hope we can arrange another one with more people in the Summer, or any time for that matter - any excuse for a glass or two of wine!
