Food etc. Supplies - Snowy Weather

We still have a good stock of food etc. so no worries there but a neighbour was telling me that the supermarkets in our local town were decidely low on things and great difficulty in getting a trolley. In fact she heard on the local radio that the Police were called to Tesco where two people were so-called fighting over a container of milk!

Sounds like the start of WW3!
Only in Tesco?

Food supplies

I went to Waitrose last Friday in Norfolk and it was absolutely mobbed at 10.30am! There was hardly anything left in the fresh vegetable section, I needed carrots which the only had one container of so I went over and had to squeeze between trolleys and people. There was a man getting his, and a woman sanding behind him waiting, so I stood behind her. The man was taking ages, picking up carrots, inspecting them and either putting them in his bag or putting them back.

We stood patiently and after a while, the woman turned to me and said with a totally straight face...

#Are we really queuing for carrots?#. To which I replied, also with a straight face. #Yes. We really are!#.

We then both burst out laughing, when we realised how ridiculous it was. Mind you between us we just about got the last carrots they had!

Supermarket Shopping Wars

I haven't witnessed anything like that yet! Actually if you time it to go the day after the panic shopping and the weather forecasters have got it wrong again, it's really nice and quiet.

Perhaps there's an advantage in having your groceries delivered. I would imagine that your order is picked early if you chose an early delivery. My last order was Friday (I would say the last day our lane was navigable, so just in the nick of time) and the only thing they couldn't provide was Waitroses crispy duck and pancakes (I fancied a night off) and I got a whole duck instead and so I did Molly's crispy duck recipe myself. I wonder if any of you remember Molly? I miss her.

Supplies

We are still ok for supplies. I'm going to make the soup today that Anastasia suggested for using the packet of Pulled Hock that I have. Still have a well stocked freezer and tins of stuff in cupboards so won't starve. Honey, I often think of Molly and wonder what happened to her.

Food Supplies.

No real problems here as yet, but also the snow has not been a problem for us either. It may be because our Waitrose is not that big and has no stock room, so it gets a delivery every hour from 6am to 8pm.

Again though, it might be because although we have had snow, its not enough to effect the traffic or anything.

Food etc. Supplies

Still loads of food in my freezers but one shelf in the fridge has some space. Molly aka Dessert Queen, and Jeni Hope - - I remember Jeni had health problems - weird how folks just seem to vanish. At least we knew about Bramble, bless.

Jeni & Molly

Jeni did have some very serious health problems and found it very difficult to communicate. Molly is a mystery that we may never solve.
