Foods you will not eat.

Not sure if we have done this before , but what food will you not eat at any cost , & what food do you tolerate.
I will not have mustard or olives at any cost , never ever.
I dislike long life milk , peas & any kind of margarine.
Will not even use margarine in cakes .
Both my Sons have never eaten tomatoes or mushrooms , they detest them , funny that because they were the only two foods I could not eat whan I was pregnant .I was unable to tolerate the same 2 foods when I was pregnant both times , just so strange that both men to this day will not eat mushrooms or tomatoes.

My Grandson will not eat potatoes in any shape or form, I love potatoes .!!

foods you won't eat

Milk, cream, milk puddings, cous cous, any pasta except thin spaghetti, pearl barley. Combinations are another dislike; fried eggs and fried potatoes are fine, but not eggs with mashed potatoes; bacon and egg with mushrooms are fine but not with tomatoes. It's the way the yellow runs into the red. I could go on...

foods I gag at

Baked beans & mash together - like Gerry, the way they merge & look nasty. Oysters are just too snotty. I don't understand prosciutto - it tastes like raw bacon - gak.

Tony's food fad

is even more peculiar. Can't eat raisin/sultanas if he can see them, unless they're mixed with grated carrot in a salad. So he'll eat chutney and Christmas cake but not hotXbuns. He'll eat fruit loaf made with wholewheat flour and very dark sugar and so dense with the dried fruit that it's not identifiable. Odd!

Coleslaw - it's revolting! I like cabbage, I like carrots, I like mayo, but put them together and I just can't eat it. Yuk.

As for foods I don't eat through choice (not 'cos they taste bad) - long list - bread, rice, pasta, pastry, anything with sugar in it, potatoes, milk, couscous, parsnips, and artificial sweeteners!

Yucky foods

Goats cheese and malt vinegar, not necessarily together!!!!
Yuk, yuk and thrice yuk!! Makes me heave just thinking about them.

Darkginger, what do you eat, then: meat, fish, veg and fruit?
Couldn't live without bread and yummy carbs.

Goats chees

I forgot the goats chees , I detest it with a passion.
We used to have gots when we were children , & to me the cheese tastes exactly like they stunk all those years ago.
I have a small list compared with some if you.
I will eat mayo if I have to but would ore fear no to.
I am not a fan of trifle , but will eat all the ingredients if they are on their own. !!

Foods I will not eat

There is a difference between foods I would not choose at home and foods I would find a problem if I was at someone's house. I would be worried about eating oysters and mussels although I haven't tried them. I don't like offal or fatty meat and I don't like the idea of things cooked in animal fat although I would have to brace myself. I need to be more adventurous!

I will not eat....

Tripe - it is the awful look of it, it was given to me at boarding school when we had a flu epidemic (many many years ago!) and the sight of it piled up on a metal tray which was wheeled on a trolley to my bedside caused a major relapse!!!!

Sadly I will eat almost all other things (perhaps not heart, lungs and the like) which probably explains why I tend to be overweight!!

Foods I don't eat

I'm a bit like Esther. I've never liked any meat fat and would never order any meat in a restaurant.

Tripe

I was given tripe in a sort of milky stuff when I was in hospital when I was five. I was told if I ate it I could go home, so I did. I was so gullible, they wanted to get rid of me anyay. No-one would ever catch me out like that again!

Oh, where to start?!?!?!!?

Biggest one is onion. What *is* the obsession to throw it into practically all recipes? It's not even edible as far as I'm concerned. Vile slimey horrid rubbish.

Lamb. The smell of it cooking just makes me want to heave. I used to cook it for Marc occasionally and had to run into the kitchen periodically, holding my nose so I could check it.

Any fatty meat, or chicken on the bone, I just can't do it. Chicken has to be skinless, boneless breast or I won't touch it.

Potato skin! Bleurgh!

There are so many others to add to this list!

Foods I tolerate. Chocolate and Cake, I don't like either of them but they are not repulsive to me, I can eat them to be polite. Actually, I feel pretty much that way about most deserts. I'll eat a bit to be polite if it's put in front of me but I'd never choose one normally.

Oh, and all condiments apart from salt and pepper.

Mayo, ketchup etc, all are just revolting.

Wow, what a very revealing subject. Seems to me most of you eat with your eyes.
The only thing I can concur with is Tripe. Never tried it and never will. Purely on a visual basis. All other foods I will at least try. Love trying something new, even if it's just the once.
Fat in meat? That is where the flavour is. Meat without it is mostly tasteless and dry. Cut the fat off after cooking. Love goat's cheese with a nice chutney.
