A gooey chocolate cake covered with ganache which is slightly oozing over the cut slice of the cake.Sorry, day 10 of diet kicking in !!

I seem to remember Delia herself saying she hoped people would soon get over them and they were just a fad, or words to that effect.As for the official cover, is the one on Amazon not the official cover then? It was removed a couple of days ago for some reason.I won't be buying this, first Delia book in a long time. I don't see the point of cake. It does not look good, it does not taste nice, what is it for?
There's one online with Delia peeking over a deep cake covered in white icing & walnuts on top. My preference would be for the gorgeous fruit cake with a glace fruit topping. Def NOT CUPCAKES or spongey things.
Her good old Carrot Cake, which I remember well. Put everything together, put mixture in the tin and placed in the oven.Oooooops, quarter of an hour later, I suddenly spotted the carrots on the worktop waiting to be grated.Gotta tell you though, the cake minus the carrot, was delicious.
I think we've all done something similar at one time or another! :)
The cover on Amazon was a mock up cover, not the real one. It was created for the pre-orders and pre-publicity.

I love her carrot cakes, too. But Biggles description of a chocolate cake sounds yummy, although I probably wouldn't make it! Would appeal to a lot of people, I think.Definitely not cupcakes!James, it's lucky most people don't feel the way you do about cakes!! For the book sales, that is:)
