Delia and Waitrose

Just heard Delias leaving Heston Bloominheck to be "the face of Waitrose". Sorry to see her go and slightly concerned about the future of Waitrose with Heston at the helm!

Delia and Waitrose

I've just read the following on AOL's Welcome page -
"The supermarket has been at pains to point out that it isn't ditching Delia. The agreement was apparently mutual as busy Delia will be working on other projects. Waitrose said in a statement that it "will be bidding a fond farewell to Delia Smith after enjoying three successful years of working together". It added "Delia has other major projects and commitments coming up in 2013 and so by mutual agreement her contraact will finish in February 2013." Rupert Thomas, Waitrose Marketing Director said "It has been such a fantastic experience working together and we have been really appreciative of the work Delia has done with Waitrose. We remain on very good terms and will be continuing to work closely with her until the end of February."

Delia, Waitrose and fast roasted chicken

There's an article in yesterday's Daily Mail which implies Delia has been dropped by Waitrose. That's academic, the journalist Anne Shooter tests and rates 8 classic recipes using Delia's and Heston's methods.

Delia wins (of course) with 33/40 and Heston 26.

One of the recipes was D's fast-roast chicken which I'm going to do today out of interest and also because I'm short of time.

Has anyone tried it, 45 minutes seems scary!
