Sales anyone ?

Has anyone ventured out into the sales ? I did some shopping both at the shops and online, got some bargains . Got quite a few things in Lakeland , and some gorgeous boots in Marks and Spencer. Bagged some baby bargains too for my granddaughter in Mamas and Papas.

Worth a look !

I got a few bits on line, Gravy. I can't bear the crowds though so stay away from the shops. I do love a bargain! :)

I cannot bear crowds either - amazes me the mass of shoppers that camp out to bag a bargain on Boxing Day. What's that about ?
Normal people are waking up, reaching for the Alka Seltzer and slumming around in their dressing gowns ! Or maybe that's just us !
Did do a recce. online through the day but only bought White Company towels as I know leave it longer and you can buy any colour but white !

Ooh, I love their towels, Sandra, and yes, got to be white for me!

I remember going to New York for the first time and people telling me I had to go to this shop called Century 21 for cheap CK pants.

Well, I went, it was chaos. Old women would elbow you in the head to get to stuff before you. Stock just dumped onto trestle tables, jumble sale style.

I walked out after a couple of minutes, decided I did not need a fiver off some new underwear that badly.............

I am usually with the online shopping crew, but I want to pick up some boots in the sales. Just can't bring myself to buy something like this online. I also have a strange hankering for a winter fedora hat.

Given that I can't stand crowds, though, it could be a while before I get those boots or the hat!

I must admit I prefer the very end of the sales, when you get some real bargains, although the choices can be limited then. But I do quite like a good rummage, especially for shoes - as I take a 3 I can sometimes pick up brilliant buys.

Even then, the trick is to get there when the shop opens and leave by 9.30 before everyone else turns up ...

My best ever though was one Saturday as M&S opened in Meadowhall & I netted an array of perfect holiday gear just as they wheeled it from the stockroom & there were loads in my size - white linen trs, strappy tops, a sundress & even some leather pumps all for £1 each item, managers special, non-return. I was SO pleased!
