Will anyone be making their Christmas pudding this weekend?

Stir Up Sunday

I won't make a pudding - my mum has already done it - but planning on making some mincemeat

Stir up Sunday

Went to the supermarket armed with my list of ingredients to make cake and pudding this morning - NO SULTANAS!!
Couldn't find the barley wine - could anyone please suggest an alternative?!
I will get there!

Alternative dried fruit etc

Donna, you can use any dried fruit. For barley wine, mead is a good substitute; porter or stout would do. I've used brandy, Cointreau, etc. Some recipes leave booze out.

Thank you.....

Gerry and Noreen! I was so enthusiastic to get everything right for Christmas cooking this weekend that I didn't stop and look properly! Plus I am not very good at thinking outside of the box! Thanks again ladies, that's a great help.

Pudding

I made Delia's Christmas Pudding yesterday, looks delicious! Hope I'm storing it right. Let it sit overnight to cool thoroughly, just unwrapped it and re-wrapped it this morning. Should I put it in a cool room as suggested or would it be better to refrigerate? I'm in Texas, US so temps tend to fluctuate. Thanks! Martha
