Does anyone know if Waitrose are going to sell Delia's Classic Cake kit again this year? When I rang my
local branch they did not know.

Cake in a bag/box.

No idea Elpe, but they reduced a lot of them last year.

They were still on sale in the Brighton branch in Feb!!!!

Yes, James, great bargain so I bought four kits last year even though I'd made the normal cake 3 months previously. We love a slice of fruit cake with some Wensleydale or Double Gloucester. The chap who took my call at the Waitrose branch pointed out that I could buy their own brand cake-kit which, he said, is very similar - though I wouldn't know about that! On Monday we're heading to Harrogate (lunch at Betty's at RHS Harlow Carr) and there's a Waitrose in town there so will enquire again.

sainsburys sold there own version in a bag last year, haven;t noticed them on the shelves yet though, maybe after halloween, when all the pumpkin shaped marzipan cake toppers have gone.

Thanks for that info, Noreen. Yes, I'll be making the original as I do every year.
