Blackberries!

There I was, down our field, throwing balls for the dogs - when wahay! I spotted a load of ripe blackberries - a whole 2 weeks earlier than usual. Planning on a bowl of blackberries and cream later - but can see we're in for a glut this year, so blackberry wine and blackberries for freezing (I don't do jam, as I've stopped eating sugar) planned for the coming weeks.

What's your favourite thing to do with blackberries?

Blackberries

I have a lovely Sophie Grigson recipe from years ago that was printed in BBC Good Food mag for Blackberry & Clotted Cream Ice cream that is well worth googling.

I also sometimes do a recipe which involves Brioche french toast/eggy bread/pain perdu (all very similar in my opinion!) topped with a warm compote of Blackberries and a dollop of clotted cream - yummy!
