Where is everyone?

Well I had a paddle in the sea at Eastbourne today and then sat on the beach with an ice cream.

I had a lovely afternoon going to Jo's for lunch with James.

Such a relaxing afternoon, tasty lunch and lots of matter.

So grateful for my Delia buddies.

Where is everyone?

Arrived at Dad's last night (flight time changed to later so would have been unable to make a meet-up yesterday) - now sweltering in his spare room - gawd, its hot! Am about to head off into Brighton to pick up his birthday cake for tomorrow and drop it off at Hove Greyhound Stadium (where we're going for his 'party'). Think I may have to treat myself to an ice-cream (which they make at the cake place, so very convenient!).

I have just come in from the garden,
34 this afternoon in our little part of france.

Being brave i decided to do a spot of sun bathing, just to give the old legs a bit of colour. I lasted ten minutes in the sun.

Must be old age, had to take shelter in the shade under the large pine tree we have.

Even the pc doesn't like the heat, yesterday it over heated and switched it's self off twice.

Now off to buy some salad not sure it will last with the heat in the car.

Making Jam

I have been making jams and jellies in all this heat. We have had a glut of redcurrants and so I have been making strawberry and redcurrant jam, mixed fruit jam, redcurrant jelly and redcurrant sauce. I have also made a raspberry and redcurrant mousse to stick in the freezer. Now I have finished it looks like the weather is going to change again!

i have been pottering in and out of the garden - trying in vain to talk to my tomatoes who are now finally basking in sunshine - but little fruiting - runner beans going great at the moment.... getting hot and bothered never was the same since Oh getting heatstroke a few years back on holiday (and myself a mild heat stroke) and popping in here when i can as the tinternet has become a bit intermittent - not sure if its Virgins fault or my aging puter? but am about live and kickin'

I've been on holiday. Yesterday was washing day, surprising how much you can get in 3 cases, today busy doing the garden. I'm worn out now:o)

Been in UK for 4 days, working hard in garden after being away for 6 weeks. Back to France, sun and 34 degrees now, better than the grey skies and drizzle we left this morning!

TCM where is SW France are you?

Where is everyone?

It is quiet on here isn't it. I've had a run of visitors this summer and just taking a rest between another batch. We've had a lovely time with Essex Girl and her husband the last couple of days (Cooper kept them entertained) and now I have my thinking cap on and browsing Delia's recipes for inspiration for our next batch who will be up here for a couple of days... more Deliaites... Merrie, Daisy Chain, Saffy, Moss, Tilly, Jaki, Angel, Essex Girl again and myself.

I'm looking for ideas for a light lunch, afternoon tea (we're going out for a meal in the evening) and then breakfast the following day. Any ideas would be welcome.
