Wow, I didn't know that Sam but you're right, it's about time. I've never been able to understand why there hasn't been one before. Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne are my closest ones at the moment.

Tunbridge Wells, Canterbury and Bluewater are my nearest Lakeland stores. They are worth travelling a distance to, but it would be nice to have one nearer - and a branch of Waitrose of course!

My local is the flagship store!

Mind you, with our Lake District roads, it isn't a hop, skip and a jump. However, it isn't hours and hours away either AND Booth's Supermarket is on the same site so a double reason to visit. If Booth's at Windermere is too busy, well Keswick is on the way home. Sorry, I'm aware I'm boasting (just a little!)

We have a large store here which I only use for really basic, but brilliant, stuff.
For every "must have " product there must be hundreds that I simply think "Why" ?
Can't be the only one - can I ?

Where did you hear about this Sam?

I couldn't find anything on the Lakeland website.

Perhaps they're going in the old Habitat shop in Churchill Shopping Centre.

Lakeland.

I was just going to reply asking the same thing, Essex girl!

Although that shopping centre is SO dying. its just full of tat. I barely ever went in there when I lived in Brighton, there are no shops I'd use.

High street really would be better, but the Habitat site would be about the right size I'd guess.

lakeland in brighton

I don't know were its going to be - could even be in Western Road somewhere piles of empty shops there..I haven't been into brighton for a long long time - last time was when i met with ging and james and nor and EG et al on the brighton meet up.

I heard about it on lakeland facebook page thingy - just happened to stumble across it - its apparently opening this summer.

have written to ask where it will be - when i find out i will let you know.

it seems it is in churchill square - no doubt as some of you have said the old habitat store. so does that mean it will be a biggy? cos eastbourne is tiny (in my opinion)which is where i used to go - then we got some lovely fish and chips and sat in the car watching the sea, then came home - it was a day out (sad aren't i) never have gone to the chichester shop, so i can't compare.

I agree with you, Minky. Trouble is that there's a Lakeland at Touchwood in Solihull and another in Worcester. But I too am still waiting for them to come to Birmingham. Shall we start a petition?

Mystery Solved

Have been to Brighton this morning. Lakeland is going to open at the end of July on the ground floor of the Churchill Shopping Centre, in between Clinton Cards and Mothercare, so not in Habitat as we suspected.

Don't suppose anyone knows WHEN at the end of July? Will be in Brighton July 24th - August 1st - would be in heaven if I could get there during my stay - and perhaps take advantage of any opening offers they might have :)

We all know that they are such a brilliant company but I think they've excelled themselves this time. I bought a Shark steam mop from them recently and bought it down to France this week. I unpacked it on Wednesday to use and noticed that a cable clip on the handle was broken, a small fault but an irritating one as the cable dangled when in use. I phoned Lakeland and they said that they would send me a new handle and offered profuse apologies for the inconvenience caused.
Today, Friday, the new handle arrived here in the south of France! I'm not sure how they do it but they do, every time. Well done Lakeland.......again. If only every fault and complaint was handled in such a polite and efficient manner.

By the way the mop in brilliant on the tiled floors.
