As the weekend is upon us, I wondered what everyone's cooking/eating today - and has the Jubilee weekend influenced your choice?

We're having a very British Sunday lunch of slow roasted beef, roast spuds, Yorkies, horseradish sauce, fine green beans and sugar snap peas, with gravy. We WERE going to have a rather nice Chianti with it all, but the corkscrew turned up broken, so it's screw-top Paul Masson instead - slumming it!

Currently enjoying a pre-prandial Black Russian as I listen to the rain outside. Very British weather, even if we're in Ireland!

Didn't log on yesterday so only saw this post this morning. We had Roast Chicken Thighs, New Welsh Potatoes, Broad Beans, Peas, Carrots and Gravy, followed by Ice Cream & Choc. Sauce. Couple of glasses of Merlot. Watched the River Pagaent on TV - bit disappointed with the BBC coverage. Pity the specially designed thrones weren't used after all the expense.

Started with BBC but far too much chat and waffle. Switched to Sky news and watched the remainder of the coverage there. Very disappointed with BBC on this occasion.

We ended up having fish and chips! We went up to London to see if we could see any of the pageant. We did get a view of the river but saw very little. The atmosphere was great but the weather won in the end! Even though I was suitably dressed I was soaked to the skin. Fish and chips in front of the telly watching the highlights was wonderful!

I had pizza for lunch!
A very light dinner of roasted asparagus with lemon oil, bay and thyme with parmesan shavings.
I have spent the afternoon smoking potatoes and onions for an oven baked frittata I am making for tomorrow's street party, which will be accompanied by Hugh F-W's merguez chickpeas.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Concert last evening - wonderful atmosphere etc. Watched it on TV by the way, not actually there myself! OH not interested in watching it so he went to bed. At the end of the Concert I went outside and saw one of the Beacons that had been lit on one of our local mountains. It was a good evening.
