Not tonight. Greek meatballs and veggie traybake for us - courtesy of Emma who fancied cooking this evening. If the good weather keeps up a weekend BBQ is highly likely.

No barbecue here!

We've just three days of continuous heavy rain. Today the sun is shining, it went rather cloudy a couple of hours ago but the sun is out again but not taking the risk of a barbecue today!

Perhaps a barbecue

Today has been perfect here and this evening it is still warm and I can go outside comfortably in short sleeves. Lovely evenings like this are rare in this country. Friends are coming for dinner on Saturday and I must admit I am tempted to have a barbecue. I think it might cool down a bit by the weekend though.

Warm Weather and BBQs

Esther, I was amazed at just how warm it was when I went outside late last night. Used to love sitting in the garden after dinner with a glass or two of something but seems ages since that happened. Think we'll have the first BBQ of the year on Sunday afternoon.

sun has got his hat on ...

hip hip hooray......

Before we make a BBQ - we need to get one, our old one accidentally got left behind in the garden, as did a lot of other things - as it was raining the day we moved.

last night did have our first al fresco meal though - chicken kievs with new tatties and salad.

The girls are having a barbie on Friday and inviting a load of friends.... I'm going out and taking the garage key with me........ the leftover booze from our 25th wedding anniversary party is stored in there!!!

Going to do some Greek chicken souvlaki, aubergine, corn on the cob and if I can get them, some sardines on Sunday :o)

Sun Still Shining

Not a soul on here today - I know you are all outside having B.Q's. I'm just off to bed!

Oooops I made a mistake - thought it was the 25th today. Too much vino.

Well, it's baking hot in Ireland today - but we don't have a BBQ - don't get enough dry, warm days in the year to justify one, really - instead we use those little disposable trays if we get hit by the cooking outside bug.

I'm more in the mood for salads than BBQ - fancy a mahoosive prawn cocktail with cherry tomatoes later - it's far too warm to cook indoors. I might marinate some lamb chops and cook them on a disposable BBQ later, and perhaps make a potato salad to go with them - but my appetite tends to vanish with hot weather, so maybe not!

I don't think of Ireland as getting that hot!! How hot is it over there now? Cool and rainy over here at present, so could do with some of your sunshine!!

Ireland doesn't get hot at all as a rule, but the car temperature thing told us it was 27 degrees yesterday. There was a bit of a breeze, which made it pleasant, and living next to the ocean we don't get the humidity that I used to hate in the UK. Not too hot to sleep at night - in fact, it's rather lovely! May is often our best month of the year - after this we'll probably be back to horizontal rain again.

Having a BBQ this afternoon (just for us) with those lamb chops, some sausages etc., plus strawbs and cream for afters :D
