Where would you rather be?

At this moment in time I would rather be anywhere than where I am at the moment. I'm bored silly, the weather is appalling and I'm ravenously hungry so my choice is easy!

I'd like to be lying on a beach looking out to sea, drenched in glorious Greek sunshine, with a spanikopita cheese and spinach pie and a glass of cold beer.

What about then rest of you?

somewhere else

Pouring rain, grey and miserable here. I'd like to re-live my 1st sight of Delphi, seen from way above while hitching in my long-ago youth.

I wonder!

Back 60 years and know what I know now. Would I do anything differently...I wonder????

Where would you rather be?

Quite honestly, I don't want to be anywhere else - am at home, have just come in from our field, where I was throwing balls for the dogs in the rain - but I *like* rain :) We've had some glorious weather here recently, so couldn't complain. Hot sun and I don't get on - I melt and go pink. Planning tagliatelle carbonara for dinner (which also happens to be breakfast, as I haven't got around to eating yet).

The best thing (for me) about where we are is that it's so quiet - can only hear a bit of traffic on the coast road in the rush hours, rarely see another person unless we want to, but you can hear the birds (and the bees!) and sometimes the waves crashing on the beach, if the wind's in the right direction . Surrounded by mountains at our back, and a view across the bay to more mountains at our front - I love it here!

Where would you rather be?

You know what? I think I would join Dark Ginger... I'm not a follower of the HOT sun. I like to see it, but would rather not be IN it for too long.

But.... I would quite like to be on Blenheim Beach in NSW (in the shade of the trees that are actually on the beach) after being in the wonderful aquamarine sea. I would sit watching the waves lapping the shore and there would have to be a gentle sea breeze. There would be not a soul in sight. I would only last about half an hour and then I would want to move on. Or, floating on my back in Lake McKenzie in Queensland comes a close second.

Where would you like to be

Yesterday the temperature hit 29 here, so after 5 weeks of rain our field (sorry garden) has grass & red stuff about 70cm talls.

So while i am cutting the grass today i will dream i am on a lovely warm beach in Mexico , hot but not to hot and not in the tourist part where there is to much noise.
Just have a lazy morning soaking up the sun.
In the afternoon walk around the little markets. After find a nice little restaurant to eat tacos then go back to the beach and watch the sunset.

Ooh yes Sue, that sounds perfect. I have only been to Mexico once but loved it and would love to go there again.
Holidays are always better than real life though as you don't have to work, do housework, or worry about the bills coming through the door!!!

Where would you rather be?

Well I've just been talking to my cousin in Crete. After quite a bit of rain there over the past weeks, they now have beautiful sunshine.....so that's where I'd like to be.

Cape Town

I would like to be sitting in a restaurant in Camps Bay watching the world go by and sipping on a mojito.

Where Would You Rather Be?

I'm with you Dark Ginger on this one. Have visited Southern Ireland many times so can easily visualise where you live from the description you gave. I too love where I live in the Brecon Beacons National Park surrounded by sheep! Beautiful scenery - great Restaurants/Pubs within easy distance - 5 miles from the nearest town. Lovely neighbours a field away. I'm a happy bunny, even though it's pouring with rain at the moment! Enjoyed reading all your comments by the way.

where?

i'm bagsying the deck chair next to Saffy - think she'd give me a bite of her spanakopita..?

actually we have brilliant sunshine here and warm temps forecast (low twenties) for the next five days so i am looking forward to a weekend outside in the garden and even a spot of kayaking on Sunday! First paddling trip of the spring.

Bbqs and watching the sun go down on the deck - no sea but you can't have it all!

Co Wexford

I would happily walk the fields where I grew up , very quiet , lots of beautiful scenery, a place to recharge my batteries.
