First time I've chatted for a year or so - so hi to all who were around then! Been busy moving house, moving locality, refurbishing, building - exhausted! No kitchen yet but hopefully this time next month...

Hello Everyone...

Hi Broomstick - we moved nearly two years ago and are planning an extension with a new kitchen and downstairs shower room. The whole downstairs of the house will be affected and I'm dreading not having a kitchen whilst this is going on. Hopefully the work can be done over the summer and we can use the BBQ a lot. I've suggested to hubby that he puts the tent up in the back garden so I can use the camping kitchen. I've got a two ring burner and grill with that and a much more poweful single gas grill. Together with the slow cooker and my George Foreman grill I'm sure I'll cope. The problem will be the washing up!

Pineapple jam

Hi Gerry.I love pineapple jam , so nice , I always have some in my yogurt.
I also put a few spoons of the jam in the batter when I make upside down a pineapple cake.
It is also very nice in smoothies, & ontop of plain icecream.
Enjoy.

Anastasia's pineapple jam

Odd, but it set in 7 minutes. Did only 1 though. Thanks for ideas - and for the recipe.

Great

Gerry , Glad it turned out ok.
This is probably one of the most versatile jams that I make , so many uses.
I saw some pineapples on a market stall one evening, they were just 20p each , so I bought 8, that is how the recipe for pineapple jam was born. That sass about 15 years ago , & it is still a firm favourite in our house.

building works and food!

Hi Saffy - well it's washing up in the bath here! Same as you - extension, dining room and old kitchen knocked into one, new kitchen, garden a sea of mud (being hard landscaped as well as builders yuk). Plenty of little places here to eat out not too expensive but even so.... Chums being very good as well. Good luck with yours!
