Home cooked meals

We've been invited out for lunch today, but having eaten out last night and the night before we really fancy a home cooked meal so have turned down the invite! I'm away next weekend too and with hubby eating out at least three nights a week, we really enjoy our time together. Am I daft for turning down the invite or do you think you would have done the same?

Invitation...

I don't think I would have declined an invitation for a meal Saffy!

Should have mentioned it was for a pub lunch! Mum has eaten there a few times and never had particularly good food. We're going to walk Sonny soon as we left the car at the pub last night (friend's 50th birthday) so we will join them for a sociable drink but have our lovely home cooked roast beef this evening.

Hmm - it would depend where and what. I love when we're on holiday and eating out all the time but equally I'm always happy to get home to my own kitchen.

Not me. I can get a little tired with eating out the entire time when we're on holiday but at home I would find it hard to turn down an invite to dine with friends. I think there are few things nicer than 'breaking bread' (and tossing back the odd bevvie) at the same table with people you enjoy.

We dine out with friends about six times a month I would say, and probably have lunch or dinner out as a couple alone together about 4 times. That leaves me a good 20 days to prepare home cooked meals. Quite enough for me!

Home Cooked Meals.

I think there is nothing nicer than home cooked meals, especially with friends.

I had my boyf and two friends over on Sat night and cooked simple food, but nice food. Nothing fancy. Chicken breast stuffed with philly and wrapped in parma ham.

Nice and simple, but we all enjoyed it, and thats what matters.

I'd rather eat at a friends home than in a pub if possible, but I also have some friends that don't really cook, so in that case, we head to the pub..... :)

As it turned out, we couldn't have made the lunch anyway; I'd sold our trailer on ebay and the buyers were meant to arrive at 1pm to pick it up. B****rs didn't arrive until 2.30! We walked over to the pub as we'd left the car there on Saturday night for the party. The friend whose birthday it was is Irish and there was a very large contingent from Belfast...... who really knew how to party. We'd left the pub at midnight just as the Irish music was starting up and the real drinking began! Lots of very weary people (some even asleep) in the pub when we arrived, with no offence to our friends, I don't think we missed an afternoon of scintillating chat and humourous repartee!
