Freezing chicken & herb picnic pies?

Hello,

Could anyone help me with this please? I am making the chicken & herb picnic pies again tomorrow which my husband loves. As they take a while to make I am wondering if I could double everything and freeze half (cooked) but not sure if this would work OK. Any advice would be great please,

thanks in advance

Chicken & Herb picnic pies.

I make these as per the recipe 6 is more than enough for us - only the 2 of us.

I cook them, then allow to cool, open freeze, then pop in a bag in the freezer.

I simply defrost in the fridge and eat them once fully defrosted.

I have never reheated them though.

Certainly it would work. Either bake the whole shooting match and freeze as "Ready to Eat"
or freeze with cooked filling and raw pastry and bake when ready.
