Sticky Basmati rice from rice cooker.

Hello,
We always use a rice cooker to cook our rice and have done so successfully for years but lately we have tried Basmati rice (Tesco) and it always ends up very sticky.
We have tried washing it many many times then soaking for 30 minutes but no matter what we do it ends up the same!!
Can anyone help please?

Perfect Rice

Hello Brian,

We don’t use a rice cooker. This is how Delia cooks perfect rice. You can follow the same method using a dessertspoon of oil and no onion for plain rice.

Sticky Rice

I have had the same problem with basmati rice in a rice ccoker. I find that if you stir it as soon as it is finished, let it go through the warming process and stir again it turns out fine

Thanks Saucey for that.
I tried it yesterday and it was a big improvement.
