Delia's Classic Christmas pudding

I made two Delia's Classic Christmas puddings in 2012, and there were absolutely delicious. Does anyone know how long they will keep after the first long steaming stage?
Many thanks!

Delia's Christmas Pudding

Hello Oxford Heron,

Christmas pudding will keep for ages from a ‘safe to eat’ point of view but Delia says from a ‘taste point of view’ there is a limit and she prefers to eat Christmas pudding about 6 – 8 weeks after its made. Then anything left after is best kept in the freezer.

Best wishes

Lindsey

delias classic christmas pud

Delias recipe is the only PUDDING i have ever made - going 20 plus years back.

Last Christmas we ate one i made in 2008.

I must admit, I make 1 pint puds, and once a year usually in July, I put a tablespoon of brandy/rum to the top of any left over puddings.

The longer the better.

Just keep a check on the tops of your puds to see if any signs of nastinesses.
