Shallower Christmas Cakes

Hello Cathy N,

Do you want them to be exactly half the height?

What size tins?

Are you baking them one by one?

Response to Lindsay re shallower cakes

Hi, thanks for your speedy response.
I would be happy to have a cake about 1 and a half to two inches deep by nine inches in diameter. I wondered about using her creole Christmas cake recipe. It seems a bit hit and miss to leave about 25% of the mix out maybe you could help.
I would probably just bake one cake at a time
Thankyou Cathy N

Shallower Christmas Cake

Hello again,

This is my best guess…..

As your tin is bigger and you want a shallower cake I would do the same quantities as this recipe for the 20cm round but check it from two and a half hours as in theory it should cook quicker.
