Plum chutney query

I have made some plum chutney yesterday and at present have put it in largish jars. Will it be okay to decant into smaller jars later on? If so should I do it now or wait a few weeks for it to mature?

I am not a fan of decanting chutney to other jars.
When doing this no matter how careful you are the chutney is moved from its sterile jar , comes into contact with the air , & you can end up with chutney that will go off.
This is not to say that it can't be done , of course it can , but you do run a disk.
The new jars will need to be totally sterile , also the lids , & you have no guarantee that it will not go off.
Plum chutney takes a good 3 months to mature , that is the minimum time , mine always rests for a year.

Thank you for your reply. I have decanted one jar into two smaller ones and will see if it works.
