Gordon Ramsay's Christmas Cake

Can I mention him here :)

I'd like to try something different than the traditional Christmas cake and I was thinking of Ramsay's take on it. I was also having a look at Richard Bertinet's recipe, but it seems a bit on the big side.

Anyone ever tried it, or tasted it. I'd like to make a start on it soon.

Don't get me wrong I have nothing against Delia's recipe it's been my stand by for some years, I'm just itching to try something new!

As always thanks for your answers.

Kevin.

GR christmas cake

do you know, he is my guilty secret.

I do like many of his recipes, and have 3 of his books - but have never come across a christmas cake.

I saw on a google a christmas cake mentioned that had chocolate in it - is that the one you are talking about?

I have tried many different cakes over the years - personal favourite is delias creole cake. but out of all the ones i have tried, delias classic always wins on the taste test (and i don't put nuts in mine - or currants).

I did once try one from an co-op magazine - that was a lot lighter in texture, which went down pretty well, not sure what i did with that recipe though, it was in their old monthly books that you picked up from the tills - actually it was co-op - it was somerfield. that was me rambling by the way lol.
